Our Destination...

The tour can be considered as one of my sweetest, most unforgettable and the most popular tour in Nepal. It not only provides a view of diverse landscapes with mountains, cultures and rural habitat of Nepalese people along the route but also a peace of mind, soul and spiritual happiness. The place itself is so pure and loving that nobody remains unhappy, bored and unemotionally attached. It is rich not only in natural beauty but also full of loving, caring, trustworthy and innocent people.
Muktinath is a sacred place both for Hindus and Buddhists located in Muktinath Valley at an altitude of 3,710 metres at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass (part of the Himalayas), Mustang district, Nepal.

Day 1...Beni to Jomsom via Ghasa

Beni (28°21'0N 83°34'0E ) is the district headquarters of Myagdi District in Dhawalagiri Zone, Nepal located at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki River and Myagdi River at an altitude of 899 metres. Beni is the gateway to Muktinath. Earlier, it was a 8-9 days trek to reach Muktinath.
But now, there are bus and taxi services from Beni to Jomsom. We reached Beni around 9 AM after a comfortable luxury taxi ride from Pokhara. Now, from Beni we took The Most Dangerous Bus Journey. Our bus was upto Ghasa. We'll have to take another bus for Jomsom.
So, after buying tickets we took our seats in "Basant Express" (Our Bus).
The road was just a wide trek trail full of bolders. Our bus hopped over the trail and we on our seats. We had our lunch at Tukuche a small village. Just after an hour journey from Tukuche our bus broke down. The situation was more adventurous when our driver
discovered that there was no mobile connection in that area.
So, the driver had to take up the job of mechanic with the guidance and supervision of the passengers. One such passenger was our team member who had some experience on Diesel Gensets... After a struggle for 3 hours the problem was fixed and the driver was really happy with the "Famous Mechanic from India".

At last we reached Ghasa and started our next part of Bus journey to Jomsom. It was already dusk and the last part of the journey was through darkness. It was dark when we reached Jomsom. We managed to get a room in a local hotel for that night.

Day 2...Jomsom to Muktinath

After a nice sleep in the cosy room our bodyache was almost gone. We went for a little hiking in the small Picturesque town of Jomsom. There is a small airport in Jomsom. Flights from Pokhara arrive

only in the morning. We tried to get mountain flight tickets for our return journey but due to the season no seats were available. We went to the Jeep stand for Muktinath. After an hour we managed to get a jeep for Muktinath.
The jeep trail was through one of the world's deepest The Kali Gandaki Gorge. Our jeep left the gorge somewhere before Kagbeni. The Kali Gandaki river flows towards Damodar Kund
and our journey was to the other side. After a journey of 3 hours we reached Muktinath. The most remarkable destination of my life.

Day 3 Muktinath...A Pictorial Journey!!!

Day 4...Jomsom to Pokhara via Beni

Lord Muktinath really made us lucky. In the Jomsom bus stand we managed a Taxi which came last night from Beni. So, it was a good bargain for us to reach Beni by Taxi. It is still a mystery to me that how a Maruti Alto can run in such a terrain. I really became a fan of this model of Maruti... We took another taxi for Pokhara from Beni and reached around 8 PM in Pokhara.
